Mike Hill joined Cabinet Office last summer as CDIO at a key point in a digital transformation journey that started in October 2020 with the founding of a Chief Digital and Information Office.

Now rebranded to Cabinet Office Digital, Mike’s team is tasked with enabling and transforming the Cabinet Office through the provision of digital, data and technology (DDaT) products and services.

In this Digital Boardroom, Mike will discuss the how of digital transformation, arguing that greater investment in putting the building blocks in place will accelerate the realisation of transformational goals.

He will share his insights on

  • getting the basics right through addressing legacy, security, governance, funding and procurement

Michael Hill , Chief Digital Information Officer at Cabinet Office

Mike Hill is the Chief Digital & Information Officer for the Cabinet Office responsible for the provision of digital, data and technology products and services to the Cabinet Office business units and Arms Length Bodies. Prior to taking on this role Mike was the Director of Police and Public Protection Technology (PPPT) at the Home Office, with the responsibility for the development, sustainment and operation of national systems on behalf of Policing, Counter Terrorism, Serious Organised Crime and Fire.Mike started his career as an Army Apprentice in the Royal Signals in the late 80's and served for 13-years in a number of very interesting and challenging roles. The values of leadership, communication and teamwork learnt throughout his early career have been central to Mike in his subsequent roles as a project/programme manager, business leader and latterly CDIO, working for organisations such as Vodafone, Cisco, HP and BAE Systems.

Sabah is the former CIO for NewsCorp. and currently at the FSCS as CDITO. Previously she was CIO Global Operations and led strategic relationships with technology partners and social media platforms. She has led key business initiatives for the company, including building their Indian (Bangalore) off-shore capability. Sabah has held a number of Technology leadership roles delivering ‘business transforming’ change to internal and external audiences across numerous industry sectors including Media, Education, Telecoms and Government.
